This elegant little Empire piano by Érard Frères was made in Paris in 1822. The case of the instrument and the original legs are made of mahogany, decorated with inlays and elaborate bronzes. The nameboard is signed with:

The instrument has a compass of 6 octaves (FF – f4) and the keyboard is made from ivory and ebony. It has two pedals controlling dampers and lute.
On the soundboard, next to the bridge, is the original handwritten signature with the serial number. This instrument convinces (beside its sound) by its small size and the elegant column-legs in the Empire style with brass ornaments.
